Danganronpa 2x2 Pre-Order Guide

Pre-orders for Danganronpa 2x2 are already live even though the game itself is still upcoming. Spike Chunsoft’s North America/Europe date is January 14, 2027. If you only remember one number besides that date, remember two prices: $59.99 for Standard Edition and $139.99 for the Psycho Tropical Vacation Package.

Standard Edition ($59.99)

Standard is the game. Platforms listed on the official product sheet:

Physical Standard copies are aimed at Switch 2, Switch, and PlayStation 5 through normal retailers. Xbox, Steam, and Epic are digital storefronts. Spike Chunsoft’s own game page tells you to “check your preferred retailer” for Standard rather than forcing their collector shop.

Switch 2 physical is a Game-Key Card, not a full 14+ GiB cartridge. If you care about owning the bits on plastic, that format may push you toward Switch 1 physical, PS5 disc, or a PC key. Details and date of that announcement live on the news page.

Danganronpa 2x2 Psycho Tropical Vacation Package pre-order trailer

Psycho Tropical Vacation Package ($139.99)

This limited bundle is the one in the official pre-order trailer (embedded mid-article). Contents listed by Spike Chunsoft:

• One copy of Danganronpa 2x2. You choose Switch 2, Switch, or PS5 physical, or a printed card with a Steam key. The Steam version of this package is sold as a Spike Chunsoft Official Store exclusive.
• RSVLTS reversible Psycho Tropical bucket hat (one-size-fits-most, poly/cotton).
• Kidrobot 3-inch Psycho Tropical Monokuma and Monomi vinyl figures.
• Danganronpa 2x2 OST — remixes of series tracks by Masafumi Takada.
• Clamshell-style outer box for display and travel.

There is also a Spike Chunsoft Official Store exclusive Flight Tag called out as a pre-order bonus on the publisher’s game page. Confirm whether your region still lists it at checkout; regional stores (US, UK, EU) have separate URLs on the links page.

Digital pre-order bonus

The official English site lists a digital pre-order bonus of 100 Monocoins and a Jabberwock Island Souvenir Set. Artwork for the set was still a “now printing” placeholder on the spec page when we captured it, so treat the names as confirmed and the item art as pending. Monocoins are the series shop currency from prior ports; we will document what the 2x2 shop actually sells after launch rather than invent a catalogue.

If a storefront omits the bonus in the fine print, screenshot the product page and keep the email. Digital bonuses sometimes attach to the first platform you redeem, which is another reason to pick one platform and not double-dip blindly.

Where to buy without getting lost

Priority order we recommend:

1. Spike Chunsoft Official Store (US / UK / EU) for the Vacation Package and the Steam card variant.
2. Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Epic first-party stores for Standard digital.
3. Brick-and-mortar or Amazon-style listings for Standard physical — verify region (NA vs EU vs Japan/Asia data size differs slightly on the spec table).

Do not buy “Roblox codes” or key-reseller mystery SKUs. This is not a live-service title. If a listing promises in-game cash for a $2 key, it is unrelated junk.

Region, language, and rating checks

• Text/voice on the box: Japanese and English.
• Rating: ESRB Mature / PEGI 16 / USK 16.
• Spec table language rows also mention Traditional and Simplified Chinese on some SKUs. If you need those, confirm the SKU, not a random import.
• Japan/Asia versus NA/Europe download sizes differ by a few hundred megabytes on Switch. That does not change the $59.99 US list, but it can change which cart or download you should redeem.

What not to expect from a pre-order

• Save transfer from an old Goodbye Despair Steam copy into 2x2. Nobody has announced that.
• Cross-buy between Switch and Switch 2. Official notes say not supported.
• A second player dropping into your trial. Player count is 1.

If you still need the “which mode do I boot first?” answer, that is Original vs Slayhem, not a store SKU. Pre-order simply buys you both campaigns on day one.
